Kristen was a senior at Kent State when she contracted an illness that required treatments and medications, the side effects of which, combined with depression, caused her weight to balloon. After treatment she was too uncomfortable in her own skin to work out in public, so she began at home with a fitness DVD and late night runs so no one would see her. Kristen shed her unwanted weight and in 2008 she left her marketing position and returned to Kent State to teach in the Physiology Department. Kristen decided she didn't want to be on the treatment side of health, but rather, she wanted to pursue the proactive side of health. Since then, she has become the Owner of youthryve.com and has dedicated her life to helping others stay fit.
