What's going on. Hi, this is Thomas Delauer, your community captain and I want to give you three ab movements that you can do in the gym that is going to help you out when you get outside. The first one is going to be a simple suitcase carry with a kettlebell while the other arm holds the kettlebell up overhead. The whole idea of this is it's going to help you retract your scapula so you end up getting a strong core through the internal obliques, the external obliques, and the transverse abdominis. This is going to help you out when you are carrying a backpack or it's going to help you out when you are just picking up your kids and you're just having a good time.
Next movement is going to be a side plank. Side planks are going to help you out when it comes down to moving from side to side but also when you are getting a little bit more technical with your hikes or when you are just out running around and moving from side to side. Next one is a plank walkup. This one is great for stabilizing the core and taking some of the pressure off the lower back. So that way, when you are getting outside and you're moving around a lot and you are picking up awkward weighted things, you're not going to feel it in your back quite so much.
