What's going on, HYLETE nation? Stop freaking out about the excess calories this fall and focus on embracing pumpkin spice. Let me give you four good reasons why.
Number one, cinnamon, okay, contains something known as a methylhydroxychalcone polymer, which is an insulin imitator. Basically, what that means, it's going to allow the carbs that you consume to go into the cell and get out of the bloodstream so they don't get converted into fat.
The next step we have nutmeg. Nutmeg is super high in an antioxidant known as macelignan, which is a neural protector. Basically to give you more cognitive function.
Then we have the next one up, which is going to be ginger. You see, gingerol, the active component of ginger, affects leptin levels, which therefore means that your brain communicates with your fat cells and allows fat to be burned.
Now the big one, we're talking about cloves. Cloves contain something known as eugenol. Eugenol is a very specific fat-soluble antioxidant. We're going to make it so that that fat does not oxidize and doesn't ultimately get converted into a trans fat inside your body, clogging your arteries and slowing you down.
