Hey, it's Thomas DeLauer your Community Captain. I'm going to help you understand foods. They're going to hit you fast for energy when you're in the gym and I'm going to help you understand foods that are going to help you get a little bit more sustained energy when you're getting outside and just having a little bit of fun.
So you're going to want fats that hit you fast for energy, like ketone production. That's going to be things like MCT oil or MCT powder. Whenever you're trying to get a quick burst of energy like you're going to the gym or anything like that. Additionally, it's going to be a good time to be getting your carbohydrates in. Carbohydrates are going to be that anaerobic source of fuel. So whenever you're doing any kind of movements that are in the daily circuit or you're working out just in the gym you want that quick hitting fuel.
Now, if you're going outside, and you're going for a longer hike, for instance, that's a good time to start getting longer chain fatty acids. By that, I mean things like avocado, maybe a little bit of olive oil before you go. See, things like that, they burn a little bit slower which means they're going to allow for beta-oxidation, which is the utilization of fats as a fuel source over a more sustained period of time.
As always keep it locked and here with HYLETE.
