It's important to know how carbs turn to fat.

Okay. It looks like this. When you consume carbohydrates, you have them broken down and they end up ultimately either getting burned because they're glucose or they end up being composed into nice little tight molecules known as glycogens. Basically, carbohydrates that are stored for later use. But here's the thing. If you eat a tad too many carbohydrates, it goes through a process as de novo lipogenesis. De novo lipogenesis basically means the accumulation or the storage of fat from a non-fat compound. Basically what you have is when you consume glucose, you ultimately end up creating something as acetyl coenzyme A. Acetyl coenzyme A all bind together to form what is known as a triglyceride. This triglyceride floats around in the body basically waiting to get stored.

So, essentially, de novo lipogenesis is when carbs turn to fat and that's exactly why, Hylete nation, you have to make sure that you're not consuming too many carbohydrates.
