What inspires me

When I finished high school the last thing I wanted to do was go to college. My mother told me I had to at least give community college a try, so I did. After my first semester, I took a kickboxing class as an elective and I fell in love. This was the first time that my passion was sparked for working out and teaching others. When I learned this was something I could major in, I knew college was an option for me. I transferred to SDSU and started my BS program in Kinesiology. The main thing that inspires me to keep killing it everyday is the motivation and inspiration I can be for others. You never know who is watching you or looking up to you. Something as simple as that, is why I always want to be and do my best. It’s not only for me, but for the others looking up and watching.

Who is my hero

Hands down my mother. She had me later in life and raised me as a single mother. All she wanted was to be a mom, and didn't let anything get in her way of that. She put me and our relationship first above anything, and truly has molded me into the person that I am today. I am thankful of the lessons she taught me and the ones that she forced me to go out and learn on my own. I could never imagine taking on the hardest job in the world, being a parent, and to me she couldn't have done a better job!

Fitness goals

My 2016 goals are to continue with my training, and keep helping people reach their goals. I also started training in Muay Thai, and I hope to have my first Muay Thai fight this year. I truly love this sport and although it’s completely overwhelming, I welcome the challenge and can’t wait to continue my training.
